About us
Rootra was created from a simple belief:
everyone deserves a space to slow down, tune in, and feel grounded again.
We wanted to build a new kind of wellbeing space in East London, one that helps people stay well, before life becomes overwhelming.
Rootra isn’t about being “fixed.” It’s about feeling more like your authentic self and gaining confidence in it.
We are here because:
Stress builds quietly.
Modern life is busy, and the pressure often piles up in the background. People need a place to pause before things become too much.Prevention matters.
We’re living through a mental health crisis. Early support, reflection, and self-awareness can make a huge difference to your wellbeing long before things reach breaking point.True wellbeing isn’t one-dimensional.
It takes reflection, movement, and community to feel balanced and whole.
Therapy isn’t only for crisis.
It’s for clarity, confidence, and connection. Everyone deserves that.
Rootra fills the space in between - a preventative, grounding home for everyday people seeking steadiness, clarity, and connection in a busy city.

Asher, Therapist
“My drive in life is to support others with their mental wellbeing. I trained as a person-centred counsellor in 2021, and more recently in cognitive behavioural approaches, after witnessing the profound impact mental health challenges can have on quality of life.
I deeply believe in the power of therapy as a space to be truly heard, understood, and held with care. Having my own personal counselling throughout my training reinforced this belief, showing me that therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis.
It can also be a valuable, supportive space for anyone navigating life’s challenges or seeking greater self-understanding.
Alongside my therapeutic work, yoga has become my anchor of grounding. After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I turned to yoga for pain relief, but what I found was so much more. It helped me reconnect with my body, reduce stress, and rebuild a sense of strength and belief in myself.
Practising yoga taught me that mental wellbeing isn’t just a mind-based process; it’s the connection between the mind and the body whilst feeling connected within a like-minded community.”

Grace, Yoga Teacher
“I’m a passionate yogi with over 10 years of personal practice, and my love for yoga truly deepened during lockdown. For me, yoga has become a way of life, a path to find balance, strength, and calm in both body and mind amid the busyness of everyday life.
I know what it’s like to feel low, overwhelmed, and unsure why. Feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally out of sync can be isolating and confusing. For me, personal therapy was a space to make sense of my thoughts and reconnect with myself, whilst yoga became the space to slow down and find balance when everything felt chaotic.
As I explored different studios and styles, I became increasingly fascinated by the diversity of teaching approaches, which inspired me to begin my own journey as a yoga teacher.
I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and empower others to feel confident in their bodies, quiet their minds, and discover the joy and connection that yoga can bring.
Yoga is more than movement; it’s a way of living rooted in ancient traditions that teach us to listen deeply to our bodies, calm our minds, and nurture our wellbeing before life reaches breaking point.”
